Our Heart – Yassine Yassine – 03/05/1949 – 04/06/2024

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un - "Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed, to Him we return.

رَبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا. My Lord, have mercy upon them [my parents] as they brought me up [when I was] small.

To find the words to write about the life of a man who meant so much to so many is a difficult task knowing he is no longer here.. A loving, big hearted, family man who has left a void in all our hearts.

Born In Lebanon, Yassine moved to Australia as a newlywed to escape the civil war. His plan was to always go back to his home country. Though the situation in Lebanon never seemed to improve, which saw him stay and raise his family in Australia. With his wife Ibtissam, he had six children; Abboud, Ayda, Sandra, Sarah, Samara and Amara. He has five grandchildren, Medina, Amelia, Celine, Layanna and Jamil.

Providing for his family was always his number one priority in everything he did. He worked long and hard hours in his small business as a pest controller. With all his hard work he was able to build a stable life for his wife and kids.

He absolutely LOVED his garden! He was also really creative and loved to keep busy. He was always working on projects around the home, from building garden beds, bird aviary, chicken coop and even a fish pond.

One thing you cant forget about him, is his sense of humour. He loved to play jokes and mess around, that those he loved would really understand.

He loved all lebaense food, - he will make a meal from what he has harvested straight out of his garden. As much as he loved all Lebanese food he couldn’t resist a big bowl of spaghetti! And lets not forget his morning coffee - 4am in the morning , if you are around he will be waking you up and offering you a coffee !

He always wanted to go back home - home back in Lebanon. He built and worked so hard in renovating his home, and what a beautiful home he has built. His home was always in Lebanon, his heart was always placed in Lebanon. Allah (swt) had written for him to be back in his home, and this was his final destination.

Did not even come close to describing the life of a man who has helped so many, who was loved my so many and with him being around, having him as a father, grandfather, brother, husband and uncle he has shaped and impacted our life's that the void can really be felt no longer having him here.

We love you endlessly, you will be missed dearly - we all love you <3

May Allah (swt) expand your grave, fill it with light and the fragrances of Jannah. Inshallah we will see you again in the gardens on paradise. We love you <3
